FILM AND THEATRE DIRECTOR, DESIGNER AND TEACHER


Suresh Bhardwaj graduated with National School of Drama in 1980 and was attached with newly formed extension Department of the School for one year fellowship. He is the former Technical Director of Rangmandal, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. Shifted emphasis in films and television and cinema in 1985 and worked in various capacities as Writer, Director and Scenographer. Worked for various sattelite channels and doordarshan as a free-lance director,designer and writer. Conceived and directed many popular programmes which includes AAP KI ADALAT FOR ZEE TV, LEKHU for doordarshan,and a number of telefilms, serials and ad films.

He is the Director of AKS (aakar kala sangam) - a theatre group of Delhi.This theatre group has become a landmark phenomenon in Modern Indian Theatre by its productions and has registered its presence in india and abroad.
He has conducted a number of theatre workshops throughout the country and abroad. He has designed and directed a number of plays for various institutions in different languages. He is known for his extraordinary contribution in the field of stage lighting design and teaching. He is the receipient of Chaman Lal Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of stage lighting.

Visited many foreign countries in relation with theatre like CHINA, JAPAN,AUSTRALIA, MAURITIUS, and particularly conducted workshops for the students of MALDIVES, SRI LANKA, and STATENS TEATERSKOOL, COPENHAGEN,DENMARK, NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, COLUMBIA where he directed the play Adhe Adhure in Espanol. He also directed another play  'LANGDEE TAANG'  in Australia.

His Major theatre productions included    'Bakri'    'Adhe Adhure'   " Night of January 16th" 'Prem Samvaad" "Saari Raat"."Aur Agle Saal"

He joined NSD as a faculty member in 1988 and is presently working as Incharge of Extension Programme in National School of Drama.
