A consultant Dermatologist and Dermatosurgeon from Kolkata,India.Born of famous Dermatologist Dr.Bhabesh Chandra Lahiri and reputed Rabindrasangeet exponent Suchhanda Lahiri,He came out as the University topper in his subject.
He is currently the National Honorary General Secretary of Indian Association of Dermatologists,Venereologists and Leprologists,and one of the Associate Editors of Indian Journal of Dermatology. He is a reviewer of Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology and also the prestigious British Journal of Dermatology and Dermatology Online Journal(DOJ), USA . He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Egyptian Dermatology Online Journal (EDOJ) He is the Ex-Hon. State Secretary of IADVL, West Bengal and was the Joint Organising secretary of DERMACON 2003 in Kolkata.
Has nearly 40 publications in various National and International journals to his credit.He has keen interest in Dermatosurgery in general and 'vitiligo surgery'in particular. That includes his special field of interest like autologous miniature punch grafting, micropigmentation, and phototherapy in leucoderma/vitiligo. He is currently working on 311 nm Narrow-band (NB) UVB. He has special interest in treating lip-leucoderma/ lip-vitiligo. He is a consultant at The Apollo Gleneagles Hospital,Kolkata, The Apollo Clinic, 39 Shakespeare Sarani ,Wockhardt Medical Centre,Kolkata and also at Rita Skin Foundation, Salt Lake. The different advanced skin care delivery systems that are offered by Dr. Lahiri are Acne surgery, vitiligo surgery, Electrosurgery,Chemical peeling,Microdermabrasion, Micropigmentation,Dermoscopy, skin biopsy,Thermoepilation of unwanted hair etc. Other than vitiligo he can be consulted for other dermatological problems as well,like Allergy,Acne, Psoriasis,Eczema,Pigmentation on face,cholesterol spots on eyelids,wrinkles etc. He has received the 'best paper award'in the National conference of Indian Academy of Cutaneous Surgeons(IACS).He has also received a special award for oration from BBC world service. He has received the "Dermatology Excellence Award" for the year 2003-2004. He is a Fellow of American Academy of Dermatology. He is one of the founder Executive council members of Asian Society for Pigment cell research and also Indian Academy of Cutaneous Surgeons. He was the Organizing Secretary of state conference of IADVL, WB(CUTICON 2004). • Attended and presented papers in various conferences, including International conferences like: 7th ISD in New Delhi, India (1994) 1st SARCD in Kathmandu, Nepal (1999) 6th Asian Dermatology Congress in Bangkok, Thailand (2001) 12th EADV in Barcelona, Spain (2003) 9th ISD in Beijing, China (2004) 7th Asian Dermatology Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2005) as invited faculty 8th Asia-Pacific Environmental & Occupational Dermatology Symposium (APEODS) in Manila, Philippines (2005) • He has successfully conducted three workshops on Dermatosurgery in Kolkata, Vizag and Dhaka and has co-authored two chapters in two different textbooks. • Regularly interviewed in AIR, Kolkata and also in various TV channels and Educational CD-ROMS.
A multifaceted person with keen interest in photography,music,films,literature,computer,travelling etc.
