HYDERABAD

Hyderabad is the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. this ancient city was founded by Qutub Shahi Dynasty in 16thcentury.It is the fifth largest city comprising Secundrabad and Hyderabad.The Qutub Shahi Dynasty was known for their beautiful "monuments,mosques and mistress's". Asaf Jah founded his own dynasty and named himself "Nizam - ul - Mulk". This dynasty ruled the kingdom for seven generations becoming one of the richest men in the world.

EXCURSIONS :-

Charminar:-

Charminar was built in the year 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutab Shahi to mark the end of the dreaded epidemic plague .Situated amidst bustling bazaars, the Charminar has beautiful arches.

Golconda Fort:-

This fort was built in 13thwhich was rebuilt by Qutub Shahis who made it their capital in 1525.The massive citadel is built up on a dusty brown hill .Inside it are the ruins of palaces ,assembly halls ,stables etc.The fort had a fantastic acoustic system by which a handclap sounded in the Grand Portico can be heard in the Durbar Hall

Mecca Masjid:-

It is one of the largest mosques in the world. It is situated near Charminar,and was started by Abdulla Qutab Shahi in 1614 and was completed by Aurangazeb in 1687 when he annexed Golconda Kingdom.

Qutub Shahi Tombs:-

These are the royal cenotaphs of the Qutub Shahi. it is situated near Golconda fort .Seven Sultans are buried here

SriVenkateswara Temple:-

This temple is situated between Naubat Pahad and Kala Pahad, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara. Made of white marble presents a beautiful sight when illuminated at night.

Salar jung Museum:-

As the name suggest it is the museum of the Prime Minister of the Nizam ,Nawab Salar Jung III .It is considered to be finest one man collection in the world .There are about 35000 articles displayed here.These are sculptures wood carving, clothings of the emperor Tipu Sultan, Religious Manuscripts,Fabulous jewelled weapons, including the Empress NoorJehan's dragger and Nawab's own Dimond-encrusted sword,priceless collections of jade ,ivory and bronzes.

EXCURSIONS AROUND CITY:-

Nagarjunasagar and Nagarjunakonda (150 km):-

Nagarjunakonda is situated on the bank of the river Krishna near Nagarjunasagar dam. It is a lost city excavated now, it was built around 3rdcentury A.D.It was once an important seat of Mahayana Buddhism Propagated by Nagarjunacharya.The Viharas with their advance drainage system is a worth seeing.Sites of Ashvamedha Yaga ,Queen's bathing ghat, Buddhist Stupas and Monasteries and the Mahachaitya, where the Buddha's relics were believed to have preserved once upon time.

Amaravati :-

Situated 30 km from Guntur.Buddhism flourished here once. There are site to be must seen are, the Great Stupa, Dhanyakata Sri Amareswaraswamy temple.

Lepaskshi :-

It is an important and popular Hindu pilgrim center ,situated at 95 km from Bangalore.There is the Huge Veerabhadra temple and the huge Nandi Bull(of Lord Shiva).
