The formation of any association in India is a state subject and in Karnataka it is under the department of "stamps and Registration". It was an initiative by Mr. SB Choudhury(Rtd. Bank officer) staying in Bangalore. He happen to contact a few sylhetis initially , mostly staying near his house and then slowly started spreading the news through web, newspaper etc. After a considerable( around 50) number of people shown genuine interest,a society was formed with minimum office bearers and same was given for registration through a lawyer and subsequently got the registration with proper, accepted bylaws etc. The main challenge now is to spread the news of the association, far and wide. It is probably not known to all sylhetis in Bangalore.
