Briefly

Born in Calcutta, the city now called Kolkata,an M.A. Economics (University of Calcutta) and Ph.D. (Indian Statistical Institute), comprehensively enjoyed executive life of first 11 years in Kolkata (United Bank of India and Coal India), next 18 years in Mumbai (Industrial Development Bank of India and Unit Trust of India),and finally 2 years in Kolkata as Chairman & Managing Director of Industrial Investment Bank of India. In 2002, six years ahead of normal Indian retirement time,ventured to taste a different and non-executive life. Now enjoying his hard-won freedom in Calcutta,

Pursuing interest in areas like internet, economics/economists, globalisation, Uncertainty & Risk, Finalcial markets, Stochastic Destiny Principle, Individual liberty and freedom, love and the lively association as Independent Non-exccutive Director with companies (ITC Ltd,Mahanagar Gas Ltd, South Asian Petrochem Ltd, Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd, SREI Venture Capital Ltd, Sumedha Fiscal Ltd and Ispat Industries Ltd)and also as Director of Calcutta Business School.
